Parramatta Light Rail - Stage One
The Parramatta Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia with a two-way track spanning 12 kilometres, and is expected to open in 2023. It will revolutionise the way workers, residents and visitors move around the Parramatta area. It will link Parramatta’s CBD and train station to:
- Westmead Precinct
- Cumberland Precinct
- Bankwest Stadium
- Camellia Town Centre
- The new Powerhouse Museum and cultural precinct on the Parramatta River
- The housing redevelopment at Telopea
- Rosehill Gardens Racecourse
- Three Western Sydney University campuses

Stage Two
The NSW Government announced a preferred route for a second stage of Parramatta Light Rail which will connect the Parramatta CBD to Ermington, Melrose Park, Wentworth Point and Sydney Olympic Park.
It will have 10-12 stops over a ten-kilometre two-way track, with travel times of around 25 minutes from Sydney Olympic Park to Camellia, and a further eight minutes to Parramatta CBD.

Parramatta Light Rail In Operation By 2023
By 2023, around 28,000 people are expected to use the Parramatta Light Rail every day. An estimated 130,000 people will live within walking distance of light rail stops.
